Terms And Conditions
Paddington Carpet Cleaning Terms and Conditions
These Terms and Conditions set out the basis on which Paddington Carpet Cleaning provides carpet, upholstery and related cleaning services. By booking a service, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. Please read them carefully before placing a booking.
1. Definitions
In these Terms and Conditions, the following expressions have the meanings set out below:
Customer means the individual or business that requests or receives services from Paddington Carpet Cleaning.
Services means carpet, rug, upholstery and related cleaning or stain treatment services provided by Paddington Carpet Cleaning, together with any ancillary services agreed in writing.
Premises means the property or location where the Services are to be carried out.
Agreement means the contract between the Customer and Paddington Carpet Cleaning, comprising these Terms and Conditions and the booking confirmation.
2. Scope of Services
Paddington Carpet Cleaning provides professional carpet, rug and upholstery cleaning services, and may offer additional services such as stain treatment, deodorising, and end of tenancy cleaning where available. The precise scope of the Services will be agreed at the time of booking and confirmed in the booking confirmation.
All Services are subject to availability and to the suitability of the Premises and items to be cleaned. Certain fabrics, materials or conditions may limit the methods that can be used or prevent cleaning altogether. Paddington Carpet Cleaning will use reasonable care and skill but does not guarantee that all stains or marks can be removed.
3. Service Area
Paddington Carpet Cleaning operates primarily in and around the Paddington area and surrounding districts in the United Kingdom. Acceptance of bookings is at the discretion of Paddington Carpet Cleaning and may depend on distance, access and scheduling. Travel surcharges may apply for locations outside the usual service area, and any such additional charges will be notified to the Customer at the time of booking where reasonably practicable.
4. Booking Process
Bookings may be requested by the Customer through an online enquiry form or other contact methods made available by Paddington Carpet Cleaning from time to time. A booking is not accepted and no contract is formed until Paddington Carpet Cleaning has confirmed the booking details, price and time slot to the Customer and the Customer has accepted those details.
When making a booking, the Customer must provide accurate and complete information, including the address of the Premises, parking information, property access details, and an honest description of the number, type and condition of the items to be cleaned. Paddington Carpet Cleaning reserves the right to adjust the quoted price or decline the booking if the information provided is inaccurate or incomplete.
The Customer must inform Paddington Carpet Cleaning of any special requirements, known defects, damage, heavy soiling, infestations, or health and safety risks at the Premises before the booking is confirmed. Failure to do so may result in additional charges, changes to the Services, or cancellation of the appointment on arrival.
5. Access and Attendance
The Customer is responsible for ensuring that Paddington Carpet Cleaning operatives have safe and reasonable access to the Premises at the agreed date and time. This includes arranging parking where necessary and complying with any building or estate access procedures.
Rooms and areas to be cleaned must be reasonably clear of personal items, furniture and breakables unless otherwise agreed in advance. Paddington Carpet Cleaning may assist with moving light furniture where practicable, but does not undertake to move heavy, delicate or valuable items.
If access cannot be gained at the agreed time, or the Premises are not adequately prepared for the Services, Paddington Carpet Cleaning may, at its discretion, wait for a reasonable period, reschedule the appointment or treat the visit as a late cancellation. In such circumstances, a call-out or cancellation fee may apply as set out below.
6. Pricing and Quotations
Prices are usually quoted per room, per item, or per square metre, depending on the type and scope of the Services. Any quotation provided prior to inspection of the Premises is an estimate only and is subject to confirmation by the operative on arrival, having regard to the actual size, condition and accessibility of the items to be cleaned.
Paddington Carpet Cleaning reserves the right to amend the quoted price if the information supplied at the time of booking was inaccurate or if the condition or nature of the work differs from what was reasonably anticipated. If the revised price is not acceptable to the Customer, Paddington Carpet Cleaning may cancel the booking without further liability, and any deposit paid for that booking will normally be refunded, except where the Customer has acted in bad faith or deliberately misrepresented the work required.
7. Payments
The Customer agrees to pay the price for the Services as confirmed at the time of booking or as subsequently agreed in writing. Unless otherwise agreed in advance, payment is due in full on completion of the Services on the day of the visit.
Paddington Carpet Cleaning may accept payment by cash, bank transfer or other methods notified to the Customer. For some bookings, including large jobs, commercial work or appointments outside normal hours, a deposit or full prepayment may be required to secure the booking. Any such requirement will be communicated to the Customer at the time of booking.
Where payment is not received when due, Paddington Carpet Cleaning reserves the right to charge reasonable administration fees and interest in accordance with applicable UK law. For business Customers, Paddington Carpet Cleaning may also rely on the Late Payment of Commercial Debts legislation where applicable.
8. Cancellations and Rescheduling
The Customer may cancel or reschedule a booking by giving appropriate notice. Cancellations and rescheduling requests should be communicated through the same booking channel used to make the original booking or via any other contact method notified to the Customer by Paddington Carpet Cleaning.
If the Customer cancels or reschedules with more than 48 hours notice before the scheduled appointment time, any deposit paid for that appointment will normally be refunded or carried forward to a new date, at the Customer's election.
If the Customer cancels or seeks to reschedule with less than 48 hours notice, Paddington Carpet Cleaning reserves the right to charge a late cancellation fee of up to 50 percent of the quoted price or retain any deposit paid, to cover lost time and administration costs.
If the Customer cancels or fails to provide access on arrival, or the operative is unable to commence work because of issues within the Customer's control, Paddington Carpet Cleaning may treat this as a same-day cancellation and charge up to 100 percent of the quoted price.
Paddington Carpet Cleaning will use reasonable efforts to attend all confirmed appointments, but may need to amend or cancel a booking due to circumstances beyond its control, such as illness, vehicle breakdown, severe weather or other operational issues. In such cases, Paddington Carpet Cleaning will seek to give as much notice as reasonably possible and rearrange the appointment at a mutually convenient time. Liability will be limited to the refund of any prepayments for the affected appointment and will not extend to consequential or indirect losses.
9. Customer Obligations
The Customer must ensure that:
The Premises are safe for work and comply with all relevant health and safety and fire regulations.
Children and pets are supervised and kept away from work areas and equipment during and after the cleaning process until carpets and upholstery are fully dry.
Any valuable, fragile or irreplaceable items are removed or adequately protected before the Services commence.
The operative is informed of any existing damage, wear, loose fittings, colour instability, or other issues that could be affected by cleaning.
Failure to comply with these obligations may increase the risk of damage or accidents and may affect any goodwill remedies that Paddington Carpet Cleaning is willing to offer.
10. Liability and Limitations
Paddington Carpet Cleaning will perform the Services with reasonable care and skill, using methods and products that are suitable for the materials involved, as far as can reasonably be determined from the information provided and any pre-cleaning inspection.
Paddington Carpet Cleaning is not liable for:
Pre-existing damage, wear, discolouration, loose joins, fraying, shrinkage, fading or other defects that become more apparent as a result of the cleaning process.
Damage resulting from hidden or unknown defects, such as loose dye, poor fitting, substandard materials, or backing or underlay issues.
Any loss, damage or expense arising from the Customer's failure to provide accurate information or comply with these Terms and Conditions.
Any indirect or consequential loss, loss of profits, loss of business or loss of opportunity.
In any event, to the fullest extent permitted by UK law, the total liability of Paddington Carpet Cleaning for any claim arising out of or in connection with the Services, whether in contract, tort or otherwise, shall not exceed the amount paid or payable by the Customer for the specific Services giving rise to the claim.
Nothing in these Terms and Conditions excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
11. Property Damage and Complaints
If the Customer believes that damage has been caused to property or items during the performance of the Services, the Customer must notify Paddington Carpet Cleaning as soon as reasonably practicable and, in any event, within 48 hours of completion of the Services. The Customer must provide reasonable evidence and allow inspection of the alleged damage before any repair or replacement is attempted.
Paddington Carpet Cleaning will investigate complaints in good faith and, where appropriate, may offer a re-clean, repair, contribution towards repair, or other remedy at its discretion, subject always to the liability limitations set out above.
12. Waste Handling and Environmental Responsibilities
Paddington Carpet Cleaning will carry out Services in accordance with applicable UK waste and environmental regulations, including those relating to the handling, storage and disposal of waste water, cleaning solutions and any collected debris.
Where possible, waste water will be disposed of safely at the Premises using appropriate drainage points designated for that purpose. Paddington Carpet Cleaning will not dispose of waste in a manner that contravenes local regulations or causes pollution or nuisance.
The Customer agrees to allow reasonable use of water and drainage at the Premises to facilitate cleaning operations and lawful disposal of waste water. If on-site disposal is not appropriate or permitted, Paddington Carpet Cleaning will follow alternative lawful methods of disposal.
The Customer must not request or require any method of cleaning or disposal that breaches UK legislation or local environmental rules. Paddington Carpet Cleaning reserves the right to refuse any instruction that would contravene such regulations.
13. Health, Safety and Conduct
Paddington Carpet Cleaning is committed to maintaining high standards of health and safety. Operatives will use equipment and products in accordance with manufacturer guidance and relevant regulations.
The Customer must not ask operatives to undertake any activity that is unsafe, unlawful or outside the agreed scope of Services. Operatives may decline to perform work if they consider the conditions to be hazardous or inappropriate.
Paddington Carpet Cleaning expects respectful conduct from both staff and Customers. Abusive, threatening or discriminatory behaviour will not be tolerated and may result in immediate termination of the visit, with any applicable cancellation or call-out charges still payable.
14. Insurance
Paddington Carpet Cleaning maintains public liability insurance at a level it considers appropriate for its operations. Details of cover can be made available on request. Insurance cover is subject to the terms, conditions and exclusions of the relevant policy and does not extend or increase Paddington Carpet Cleaning's liability beyond that set out in these Terms and Conditions.
15. Force Majeure
Paddington Carpet Cleaning will not be in breach of the Agreement or otherwise liable for delay in performing, or failure to perform, any of its obligations if such delay or failure results from events, circumstances or causes beyond its reasonable control, including but not limited to extreme weather, transport disruption, strikes, pandemics, utility failures, or acts of government. In such circumstances, Paddington Carpet Cleaning will use reasonable endeavours to resume the Services as soon as reasonably practicable.
16. Privacy and Data
Paddington Carpet Cleaning will collect and use personal data supplied by the Customer for the purposes of managing bookings, delivering the Services, processing payments and handling queries. Personal data will be handled in accordance with applicable UK data protection laws and any privacy information provided separately to the Customer.
17. Amendments to Terms
Paddington Carpet Cleaning may update or amend these Terms and Conditions from time to time. The version in force at the time of the Customer's booking will apply to that booking. Customers are encouraged to review the current Terms and Conditions before confirming a new booking.
18. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These Terms and Conditions, and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with them or the Services, whether contractual or non-contractual, shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.
The parties agree that the courts of England and Wales shall have exclusive jurisdiction to settle any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with these Terms and Conditions or their subject matter or formation.
19. General Provisions
If any provision of these Terms and Conditions is held by a court or competent authority to be unlawful, invalid or unenforceable, that provision shall be deemed modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it lawful, valid and enforceable, and the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
No failure or delay by Paddington Carpet Cleaning in exercising any right or remedy under these Terms and Conditions shall constitute a waiver of that or any other right or remedy.
The Agreement is between Paddington Carpet Cleaning and the Customer. No other person shall have any rights under the Contracts Rights of Third Parties Act 1999 to enforce any of its terms.
By confirming a booking, the Customer acknowledges that they have read, understood and agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.
